Man accused of 7 crimes arrested in Lacey parking lot, Thurston sheriff says

A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a slew of domestic violence-related crimes in Lacey last week, Thurston County Sheriff Derek Sanders said in a social-media post.

The alleged crime spree began in the Yelm area.

“The suspect broke into the victim’s residence, damaged property, and assaulted the victim before stealing a firearm and fleeing,” he wrote.

Deputies searched for the suspect that day and the next, Sanders said.

The man was located Tuesday morning in the 600 block of Woodland Square Loop Southeast in Lacey, according to his post.

“Undercover detectives located the suspect and conducted a high risk vehicle takedown,” he said. “The suspect was taken into custody without any physical force being used.”

The man subsequently appeared in Thurston County Superior Court where the judge found probable cause for the following crimes: first-degree burglary, domestic violence; second-degree assault, DV; theft of a firearm, DV; second-degree malicious mischief, DV; interfering with the reporting of domestic violence; second-degree vehicle prowling, DV; and first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.

Bail was set at $75,000, which the suspect appears to have posted because he is not listed in the Thurston County jail log.

His arraignment is set for 9 a.m. July 14, court records show.
