Level 3 sex offender registers as transient in Thurston County

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office has issued a general notification regarding a 63-year-old registered level 3 sex offender.

Kelly R. Griese has indicated that he is transient, and therefore poses a high risk to the community, according to a release from the Sheriff’s Office.

Griese pleaded guilty on Aug. 26, 1980, to one count of first-degree robbery and one count of second-degree rape in Kitsap County Superior Court. The conviction stems from Griese, at 28, sexually assaulting a 16-year-old female.

Kelly Griese is described as a white man, 5 feet 10 inches and 145 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes.
