Thurston County deputy, driver collide on SR 507
The Washington State Patrol is investigating a collision involving a Thurston County Sheriff’s deputy and a 75-year-old driver that occurred at 8 p.m. Tuesday on state Route 507, said Trooper Guy Gill.
Both the female driver and the deputy sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The deputy had been responding with lights and sirens to reports of a burglary in progress. As he approached the intersection of Koeppen Road Southeast, three vehicles were traveling ahead of him. Two of the vehicles pulled over to the right side of the highway, but the lead driver turned her Honda Passport in front of the deputy toward Koeppen Road, Gill said.
The deputy’s vehicle struck the rear of the woman’s SUV.
No arrests have been made.
