WSP seeks witnesses to collision involving Thurston County deputy

The Washington State Patrol is looking for information about an injury collision involving an on-duty Thurston County sheriff’s deputy and another driver.

The drivers collided on state Route 507, near Yelm, about 8:45 p.m. on Nov. 24.

The deputy, who was driving a fully marked Sheriff’s Office Chevrolet Tahoe, was responding to a burglary with lights and siren activated. As the deputy passed cars that had pulled over, a vehicle turned left from SR 507 onto Koeppen Road. The vehicles collided in the intersection.

Detectives are seeking witnesses to the collision or the events leading up to it. Detectives would like to speak to all drivers and passengers.

If you know anything about this collision, or know someone who does, call detective Sgt. Jerry Cooper at 425-508-0602 or send an email to Jerry.Cooper@wsp.wa.gov.
