Level 3 sex offender registers as transient in Thurston County

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office has issued a general notification regarding Level 3 sex offender Samuel M. McFarland. McFarland has registered as transient.

On Jan. 22, 2001, McFarland, 29, pleaded guilty in Thurston County Juvenile Court to first-degree child molestation. He was sentenced to 80 to 100 weeks confinement. The conviction stems from McFarland, at 14, sexually assaulting a 6-year-old male.

Samuel McFarland is described as a white man, 5 feet 5 inches, and 160 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.
