Former Yelm resident sentenced in child pornography case

A 23-year-old Michigan man was sentenced to one year in custody Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to child pornography and failure to register as a sex offender charges in Thurston County Superior Court.

Following his 2014 arrest, Dylan E. Reaksecker was charged with one count of dealing in depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, and three counts of possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

When he appeared before Judge Erik Price on Monday, he pleaded guilty to two charges: attempted possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct and violation of sex offender registration.

Reaksecker was sentenced to one year in custody, with credit for time served. He was released from the Thurston County Jail on Wednesday evening.

According to court documents, law enforcement agencies began investigating Reaksecker in 2013 when an email containing explicit photos of children was sent to an undercover email address.

The images were traced to an online image-hosting service allegedly associated with Reaksecker, who lived in Yelm at the time.

Reaksecker moved to Michigan after the investigation began, and was arrested there. He was extradited to Thurston County, according to court documents.

According to court documents, Reaksecker has a prior conviction for third-degree assault with sexual motivation.
