Driver crashes into Rochester church
A man was arrested Thursday afternoon after he intentionally drove his vehicle into Rochester’s Crossroads Church, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.
Sgt. Carla Carter said the crash was likely a suicide attempt, but the man sustained only minor injuries. Deputies responded to the church, located at the intersection of Pendleton Street Southwest and 183rd Avenue Southwest at about 12:20 p.m. Thursday.
Carter said that no one besides the driver was injured, but the church facade was damaged significantly. The man was booked into the Thurston County Jail on suspicion of malicious mischief.
