2 sex offenders register as transients in Thurston County

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office has made a general notification regarding a pair of level 2 sex offenders who have registered to live in Thurston County.

Robert L. Carriger, 41, pleaded guilty in September 2004 in Kitsap County Superior Court to third degree accomplice to rape of a child. He was sentenced to 26 months in jail. The conviction stems from Carriger, at 29, watching another person sexually assault a 14-year-old girl.

In September 1997, Carriger pleaded guilty in Superior Court in El Dorado County, California, to lewd acts with a child under age 14. He was sentenced to three years in custody and five years probation. The conviction stems from Carriger, at 23, having sexual contact with a 7-year-old boy.

Carriger has registered as a transient in Thurston County. He is described as a white male, 5 feet 6 inches and 140 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.

Also registering in Thurston County is 27-year-old level 2 sex offender Nicholas J. Harper.

Harper pleaded guilty in October 2004 in Thurston County Superior Court to indecent liberties with forcible compulsion. He was sentenced to 52-65 weeks in custody. The conviction stems from Harper, at 16, sexually assaulting a 17-year-old female.

Harper has registered as a transient. He is described as a white male, 5 feet 7 inches and 150 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.
