A former assistant superintendent for Tumwater School District has been picked to lead Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County, the group announced Tuesday.
Chris Woods was named CEO following a national search. He will start April 8.
“His commitment to youth and experience developing community and school partnerships are strengths that made him the ideal candidate to lead our organization and advance our mission to help youth realize their greatness,” Whitney Holm, president of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County board, said in a news release.
In February, Woods was one of three finalists for the superintendent job at the Tumwater district but pulled out before a decision was made. He left the district late last month.
He previously served as principal of Capital High School and was a finalist for Olympia superintendent in 2017.
