Olympia School District to host Technology Fair
The Olympia School District will hold its second annual Technology Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Olympia High School Commons, 1302 North St. SE, Olympia.
The free event, which is open to the community, will “showcase the latest educational technology and how (schools) are using it to advance skills in core academic subjects such as reading and writing, and classes in the arts and career technical education programs,” according to a district news release.
Last year’s tech fair featured about 25 booths from various schools and school district programs, including robotics demonstrations, student-made videos and websites, and presentations on apps and other technology.
This year’s event will feature a Technology Challenge for students in elementary, middle and high schools. In the morning, teams will be presented with a secret technology challenge; they’ll be asked to collaborate and make a presentation about the challenge to a panel of judges in the afternoon.
