Joint Base Lewis-McChord this week is bringing back an event that offers job training courses for military service members and peaks with a large job fair that aims to connect veterans with new careers.

The so-called Service Member for Life Military Transition Summit begins Tuesday with a conference for military and civilian leaders. On Wednesday, the program includes breakout groups for military service members to learn about how to prepare themselves for jobs in seven career fields, including technology, health care and manufacturing.

The job fair follows on Thursday. Last year, it attracted almost 3,000 job seekers and more than 200 companies.

So far, more than 1,000 people have registered to attend the fair. To register, go to wamilitaryalliance.org/summit/.
