Meridian will close before roundabout at Route 510 can open

A new roundabout at state Route 510 and Meridian Road Southeast east of Lacey is nearly ready, but before it opens, crews plan to close those roads to traffic next weekend.

Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will close Meridian Road near Route 510 from 7 p.m. May 10 to the afternoon of May 13. A detour route will be provided.

One lane on Route 510 near Meridian Road will be closed from 7 p.m. May 10 to 5 a.m. May 13 with one-way alternating traffic through the area. Drivers should expect delays.

The work is weather-dependent and could be rescheduled.

Once the roundabout is open, crews will repave Route 510 between Old Pacific Highway Southeast and Reservation Road Southeast overnight with one-way alternating traffic from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
