A small street that juts off Trosper Road and Capitol Boulevard Southeast in Tumwater will be closed for two weeks while crews work on the next step of the corridor reconfiguration project.

Linda Street Southeast, east of Capitol Boulevard Southeast, will be closed to all traffic from Monday, March 13, to Friday, March 24, according to the city. There are a handful of businesses that can normally be accessed from the road, but people are being asked to use other access points.

There also are a few residences on the street, and a detour route will be posted east of the closure. Those who live on the street will still have access to the street in front of their properties. Crews will be installing a sewer in the first 250 feet of Linda Street, east of Capitol Boulevard Southeast. It will entail digging a trench in the center of the street, and there will be heavy equipment going in and out of the area.

Drivers in the area should expect delays and congestion. And people are being directed to drive slowly through work zones and use alternate routes where possible.

The road work schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors. For more information, contact Tumwater’s Project Info Line at 360-754-4186, or email at communications@ci.tumwater.wa.us.
