A single-vehicle rollover crash blocked two lanes of southbound Interstate 5 in Lacey on Friday. The driver, who’s suspected of having been under the influence, was airlifted to Tacoma General Hospital.

Washington State Patrol trooper Robert Reyer said the crash was reported at 10:44 a.m. May 12. A 38-year-old Lacey man was driving his 2004 Nissan Sentra north on I-5 approaching Carpenter Road in the left lane when the Sentra struck the barrier on the left shoulder of the road and rolled.

The Sentra came to rest in the left lane of southbound I-5. The freeway was block for more than two hours during a busy, sunny Friday afternoon, backing up traffic into Pierce County.

Reyer said no other vehicles were involved and no other injuries were reported.
