This highway will be closed to drivers overnight. Here’s what to know

The Bellingham Herald

A portion of state Route 507 will be closed overnight on Sept. 28 near Bucoda in south Thurston County. Drivers will be directed to detour while crews work to repair a culvert.

The closure will last from 6 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29. Northbound traffic will be directed to go through Centralia to get around the closure. Southbound traffic will be directed to use Old Highway 99 in Tenino.

The speed limit around the closure will be reduced both before and after the construction, according to a news release from the state Department of Transportation. It will be reduced to 35 mph on SR 507 between mileposts 7.95 and 7.96 until the roadway is repaired.

The portion of the highway will reopen using a temporary surface, and crews will have to return later to complete paving the road, which will mean another closure. Stay up-to-date on WSDOT projects and travel information by going to their website.
