Signal installation to cause traffic bottleneck Wednesday on route into downtown Olympia
Crews reinstalling a traffic signal on Wednesday at the intersection of State Avenue and Central Street in Olympia are likely to cause a traffic bottleneck -- and headaches -- for drivers headed into downtown Olympia.
Drivers can expect lane closures and delays in the area from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
According to a news release from Olympia Public Works, State Avenue will be reduced to one lane between Lybarger and Henry streets for the duration of the work period.
Both lanes of State Avenue will need to be closed for about 15 minutes at some point, according to the release.
Central Street will be closed in both directions between Olympic Drive and State Avenue, and the northbound lane of Central Street between Fourth and State avenues will be closed.
