Updated: I-5 near Lakewood was stopped by truck unable to pass trestle. Road now open

An oversized truck on I-5 near Lakewood that is unable to fit under a train trestle overpass on Tuesday is causing over four miles of traffic.

All northbound traffic near Bridgeport Way is stopped as Washington State Patrol troopers work to remove the load from the truck, according to Trooper John Dattilo.

The Washington State Patrol Department of Transportation reported the incident at 11:11 a.m.

Dattilo said the truck driver was approaching Bridgeport Way and believed the vehicle’s load was too big to fit under the train trestle

12:55 p.m. update: The road has reopened and traffic is flowing again, Dattilo said on X.
