Thurston County is warning the motorists that a portion of Tilley Road Southwest will be closed for road work this week.

The closure will occur between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, on Tilley Road between Maytown Road and 140th Avenue, which is south of Millersylvania State Park, according to a county news release.

“Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes during the closure and to allow extra travel time,” the release says. “The county appreciates the public’s patience as these necessary repairs are completed.”

A detour route will be in place to guide traffic around the closure.

Local access on Tilley will still be maintained south of Maytown Road. A hard closure will be in place at Beaver Creek, which intersects Tilley Road near 140th Avenue, according to the news release.

Anyone with questions about the road closure can contact Nick Bemis, Road Operations Supervisor for Thurston County Public Works, at 360-867-2388 or nick.bemis@co.thurston.wa.us.

The public can find information about current road work and concerns on Thurston County’s online Travel Impacts and Concerns map.
