Paving work on Littlerock Road Tuesday will close lanes and disrupt traffic
Beware Tumwater drivers. Road paving work on Littlerock Road and on Lee Street is going to disrupt traffic in the early part of this week.
The northbound lane of Littlerock Road Southwest between Bloomingdale Lane and Kingswood Drive will be closed for pavement restoration work from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23. The southbound lane will remain open for local traffic.
Traffic control flaggers will assist motorists around the work zone. Through traffic will be directed to detour via Odegard Road Southwest or Israel Road Southwest to Tyee Drive.
The city encourages drivers to take steps to reduce traffic and disruption:
- Reschedule optional or flexible trips to a different day.
- Use alternate routes.
- Avoid driving over freshly paved surfaces until the area is reopened.
All scheduled road construction projects are subject to change due to weather, equipment, and project delays. Call 360-252-5408 If you have questions. Or follow @CityofTumwater on Twitter for construction notices and traffic alerts about planned road construction projects and emergency events.
Also this week, Lee Street Southwest between Capitol Boulevard and Sixth Avenue Southwest will be closed from 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, through 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, to allow the city’s contractor to complete grinding and paving. This work was scheduled overnight to take advantage of lower traffic volumes, according to a city news release.
Detour signs will direct motorists to Capitol Boulevard, Dennis Street and Linderson Way. Throughout the closure, pedestrian and bicycle access will be maintained along Lee Street and Sixth Avenue.
