Daytime lane closures could cause delays for travelers on Interstate 5 in the Olympia area starting Monday morning.

Travelers can expect to see a single lane closure on southbound I-5 as they approach U.S. 101 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, according to a Washington state Department of Transportation news release.

The closures will allow WSDOT to repair a guardrail on I-5 and the exit to U.S. 101. The work is scheduled for daylight hours so workers can be more easily seen.

As always, WSDOT is asking the public to slow down, be kind, pay attention and stay calm while traveling through work zones.

Posted reduced speed limits are for worker and driver safety, WSDOT says. Travelers are advised to expect delays, leave early for appointments or take alternate routes if possible.

The public can see real-time traffic information on the WSDOT app and on the online WSDOT Travel Center Map.
