Daytime work on I-5 will impact Thurston County drivers on Tuesday

Daytime road work is coming to southbound I-5 in Tumwater on Tuesday, according to a news release from the Washington State Department of Transportation.

According to the May 29 news release, the right lane of southbound I-5 between Tumwater Boulevard and 93rd Avenue will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2.

The closure is so crews can safely work to repair pavement, according to the release.

All ramps and exits will remain open throughout the lane closure, according to the release.

“Crews need warm and dry conditions to repair pavement,” according to the release. “The repairs will help reduce the rate of deterioration on the roadway.”

The work is weather dependent and could be rescheduled, according to the release.
