Couple deliver pronghorn fawn after seeing pregnant deer hit by car, CO officials say

A pronghorn was killed while giving birth, but luckily for her fawn a Colorado couple was nearby.

The doe pronghorn was struck Sunday by a driver in Colorado Springs traffic, Colorado Parks and Wildlife said. A couple saw the incident and did something that saved the fawn’s life.

“A couple witnessed the incident, saw the doe was giving birth and pulled the fawn from the mother,” Parks and Wildlife said.

Officers from Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Southeast Region were notified and relocated the orphaned fawn to a rehab center.
