There are some homes that can be considered “blank canvases” and this home on the real estate market in Alberta, Canada for $990,000 might be one of them.
Or, it might be a home that would cause you to shake your head and ask “huh?”
This particular property, built in 2017, actually serves as both, at least according to a popular social media page.
Sitting on 10 acres of land in Rual Surgeon County, the single family home with two bedrooms and three bathrooms is described as a “rare opportunity” with “amazing green space” by the listing on Realtor.ca.
“Modern open style design concrete slab construction home,” the listing says. “Loft style living with opportunity to make it your own. In-floor heating and insulated slab walls are energy efficient and enjoyable for cool winter days. Large attached garage with industrial epoxy coated flooring.”
While the property is certainly unique, fans on Zillow Gone Wild weren’t quite sure what exactly it is they are looking at when it comes to the photos of the interior.
“I don’t want to know how (the) plumbing works,” one person observed.
“This is the most luxurious garbage party house I’ve ever seen,” another said.
“They took the industrial look very seriously,” one person said.
“You could just hose it down occasionally instead of vacuuming,” another joked.
“’Welcome to our chemical factory and dystopian love cottage!’” one person noted.
“Love it,” someone said. “So much potential for this property. So many ideas. I see a blank canvas.”
“Why have the basement in the basement, have it everywhere,” another commented.
“A good place to ride out the zombie apocalypse,” one person observed.
“I imagine this is what an Amazon Warehouse worker has nightmares about living in,” another joked.
“Where do you park the car?” asked one person. “In the living room.”
“Looks like Bruce Banner built a Hulk-Proof house,” another said.
“You all laugh, but when Covid 23 produces the zombies, this house will be impenetrable with just a couple of treadmills outside the front door,” one person concluded.
And, of course, some people were wondering what exactly that red object is in one of the photos.
“Is that red thing an iron lung???” someone asked.
“Confident I could make this work,” one fan said. “Iron lung needs to go, though….”
