Paraglider stranded on rugged Hawaii ridge after crash landing, firefighters say
Honolulu firefighters airlifted a paraglider to safety after he became stranded on a rugged ridgeline, officials told news outlets.
The 27-year-old Oahu man had apparently crashed on Kamehame Ridge on Sunday, Jan. 9, The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported.
Fifteen firefighters responded to a 911 call about the stranded paraglider at 12:20 p.m. Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time, HawaiiNewsNow reported.
Firefighters spotted the man 100 feet below the ridge trail and called in a helicopter to airlift him to safety, KHON reported.
The man was unhurt, news outlets reported.
