An electronic billboard on the University of Utah campus meant to highlight student activities and campus information recently broadcast something entirely different — porn, according to news reports.

On Sept. 13, one billboard on the University of Utah’s campus showed a porn website and photos of women performing different sexual acts, according to KSTU.

An employee at the university noticed the incident and reported it, according to KSL. The electronic billboard kiosk was shut down within the hour.

The university believes the touch-screen kiosk was somehow “hacked” around midnight on Sept. 11 and over the next two days, ”multiple porn sites” were opened on it, according to KSTU.

“None of the other 19 outdoor, and approximately 100 indoor, electronic screens across campus were impacted. All other electronic signs on campus are secured,” a spokesperson for the university said in a statement reported by KSL.

University police are now looking through surveillance footage to try and identify the individual or individuals responsible for the breach, according to KUTV.

The incident occurred just two days after two topless women attended a football game at University of Utah’s stadium.

The two women attended the game with body paint on their torsos, according to KSTU. After being approached by officials to put on clothing, the women did.

There is no known link between the hacking incident and the two women who attended the football game.

University of Utah is in Salt Lake City.
