A high school woodshop teacher was arrested after being accused of lewd acts with a student, California officials said.

Pacifica officers arrested a Terra Nova High School teacher later identified as 64-year-old Paul Spinetti on Jan. 28, according to a Facebook post by the police department.

Spinetti is accused of committing “lewd and lascivious sexual acts” against a female student in October and November, officials said.

He’s been employed at the high school as a woodshop teacher since 2015, officers said.

“As soon as the administration was made aware of these allegations the District activated our mandated reporting protocols. The teacher was immediately placed on administrative leave and has not been in contact with students or been in district facilities since the allegation was made. We cannot provide any details or further explanation at this time as it is also a personnel matter,” Jefferson Union High School District said in a statement.

Spinetti was arrested on charges of lewd acts with a minor and sexual battery, officials said.

He was arrested at his home and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City, officers said.

Police believe there may be more victims and ask anyone with information to call 650-738-7314.

Pacifica is about a 15-mile drive southwest of San Francisco.
