U.S. stock index futures trimmed losses on Wednesday after May inflation data tempered some bets of further Federal Reserve's policy tightening.

A Labor Department report showed the Consumer Price Index rose 4.2% on a yearly basis in May, in-line with estimates.

At 08:33 a.m. ET, Dow E-minis were down 305 points, or 0.6%, and S&P 500 E-minis were down 38 points, or 0.51%. Nasdaq 100 E-minis were down 179 points, or 0.61%.
