Robertson appointed director of the Office of Corrections Ombuds
Caitlin Robertson is the new director of the Office of the Corrections Ombuds, Gov. Jay Inslee’s office announced Wednesday.
She replaces interim director Sonja Hallum. Robertson’s first day is June 1.
The OCO is charged with investigating concerns related to the health, safety, welfare, and rights of incarcerated persons in the custody of the state Department of Corrections, according to a news release. The office also publishes reports related to investigations and other issues involving incarcerated individuals.
Before her new appointment, Robertson was the lead assistant ombuds for investigations at the state’s four Eastern Washington corrections facilities.
“Caitlin’s management experience with the OCO makes her someone who can hit the ground running in this position,” Inslee said in a statement.
Robertson holds a doctorate in leadership studies from Gonzaga University in Spokane, and a master’s degree in conflict and dispute resolution from the University of Oregon School of Law.
