Want to serve your community? Consider these posts in drainage and special districts
Filing week is Dec. 9 through 13 for candidates who want to vie for commissioner positions in three drainage districts and one special district in Thurston County.
The available positions, according to a news release from the county auditor’s office, are:
- Black Lake Special District, Position 2
- Chambers Lake Drainage District, Position 1
- Hopkins Drainage District, Position 3
- Scott Lake Drainage District, Position 1
Would-be commissioners for these districts need to own property in the district and be registered Washington voters, according to the auditor’s office. The election will be held Feb. 4, elections manager Tillie Naputi-Pullar told The Olympian.
Filings are already being accepted via mail, and in-person filings will be accepted Dec. 9 through 13 at the auditor’s office in Room 118 of Building 1 at the Thurston County Courthouse: 2000 Lakeridge Drive Southwest.
The office is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
