Thurston County Auditor’s Office mails ballots, opens drop boxes for Aug. 1 primary
The Thurston County Auditor’s elections division has mailed more than 191,300 ballots to county voters ahead of the Aug. 1 primary election.
Registered voters who do not receive a ballot by July 19 should contact the auditor’s office. Voters in Fire District 13 will not receive ballots, as there are no measures or candidates to vote on.
Among the races on the primary ballot are those for city councils and school boards, as well as those for new Thurston County and Port of Olympia commission seats. Voters previously approved expanding those commissions because of the county’s population reaching 300,000.
There are 29 secure ballot drop boxes around the county, which are viewable on the auditor’s website. Thurston County residents can register to vote, get a replacement ballot or vote with an accessible device at the auditor’s voting center, located at 2400 Evergreen Park Drive SW.
A list of primary candidates, the voters’ pamphlet, and a sample ballot can all be found on the Thurston County elections website.
