A ‘Fountain of Youth’ collagen product may contain an allergen, so there’s a recall
A collagen protein product with the phrase “Fountain of Youth” in its name has been recalled because there may be undeclared milk.
People who have a milk allergy or sensitivity could face serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the products, a U.S. Food and Drug Administration recall notes.
BUBS Naturals of Encinitas, California, has recalled two lots of its Fountain of Youth Formula Collagen Protein products that are sold in 10.16-ounce containers and distributed through the BUBS Naturals online store, Amazon, and some grocery stores and The Vitamin Shoppe nationwide.
The recall was triggered on Dec. 3 because the MCT oil powder ingredient in the collagen protein product contains an undeclared milk allergen.
As of the recall date, there have been no reports of illness involving the BUBS Naturals products.
People use collagen supplements for several reasons, including to improve skin health or relieve joint pain, according to Healthline.
What you should look for
▪ BUBS Naturals Fountain of Youth Formula with lot number 04230401 and expiration date of 5/28/22.
▪ The other one has lot number 5908501 and an expiration date of 7/13/23.
The lot code and expiration date are located on the bottom of the container, in the bottom center of the panel.
What you should do
Customers with a milk allergy or sensitivity who have the recalled containers should not use it and should return it to the point of purchase.
