Candidates for statewide office face off in League of Women Voters debates this month

The League of Women Voters of Washington Education Fund and The Spokesman-Review newspaper in Spokane will launch a series of debates between statewide candidates next week.

Candidates for state treasurer and secretary of state will debate on two separate occasions next week.

The treasurer debate will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 17, and the LWV Education Fund will stream the event on Facebook. The secretary of state event will will be recorded and available to watch about Sept. 19. A time for that broadcast has yet to be announced.

Voters interested in participating in the debates can submit questions to forumquestions@lwvwa.org. Voters should include which position the question is for and what community they are from.
