United Way sets up emergency fund to benefit people affected by Washington, Oregon fires
In response to the wildfires that have devastated the Pacific Northwest, the United Ways of the Pacific Northwest have established the Pacific Northwest Wildlife Relief and Recovery Fund.
The UWPNW will work with local United Way organizations in impacted communities across the region.
All donations will be used to help provide displaced families with access to food, shelter, child care, health care and other critical services.
The fund will help these families meet their emergent long-term recovery needs. Nine United Way groups will benefit from these donations, seven in Oregon and two in Washington (Kennewick and Pullman). The Kennewick and Pullman United Way branches are working to help out those affected by the fires in Whitman, Benton, and Franklin Counties.
