These apps can help you find the cheapest gas near you
As gas prices continue to rise, finding the most affordable pumps in your area to keep your budget under control is becoming a challenge.
Washington state’s average gas prices have continued to increase, now reaching a high of $4.73 a gallon. That’s a 73 cent jump from last month, according to the American Automobile Association.
Also according to the AAA, Bellingham’s average gas price is $4.68 a gallon, while Seattle is up to $4.90 a gallon.
Olympia and Tacoma’s average gas prices have also increased up to $4.79.
Here are a few apps you can download that will help you find the cheapest gas prices near you:
GasBuddy
The GasBuddy app is easy to use and through GPS or entering your zip code. It will show you all the gas stations in your area and their current prices.
Users can also input gas station prices on the app so the prices are continually updated.
GasBuddy also offers some “GasBack” options for when users visit a gas station and upload a photo of their receipt, GasBuddy will give you cash back. GasBuddy also has its own free gas card that works like a debit card and offers users up to 25 cents off each gallon of gas. For more rewards, GasBuddy also has a credit card.
GasBuddy lets users search for gas prices based on fuel type, payment method and gas station brands.
The GasBuddy app is free to use and does not require users to make an account to use its features. The app easily compares the prices of gas stations near you and will show you the least and most expensive place to pump gas in any area.
The GasBuddy app is available for download in the App Store and Google Play.
Waze
Waze is more well known for real-time updated navigation, but the app also has a feature to help you find the cheapest gas prices.
Waze’s Gas Station (GS) Feature allows users to search for and compare gas prices that are updated by live users on the app. Once a user chooses a gas station, the Waze app can directly navigate drivers to the location.
Those with Waze accounts can update the prices of gas stations, but can only change the prices on the app if they are above a “baby Wazer” rank of user, and are within a 0.3-mile radius of the gas station they are trying to update.
The Waze app also allows users to report locations of car crashes, police officers, traffic and construction so that other users will see the reported locations on their navigational maps.
The Waze app is available for download in the App Store and Google Play.
