Kennewick pool part of effort to set record for largest swim lesson

The city of Kennewick is asking adults and kids alike to be at Kenneth E. Serier Memorial Pool on June 18 to simultaneously promote swimming lessons and attempt to break a world record.

The pool is a registered location for the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson event. It will be conducted over 24 hours around the world with officials for Guinness World Record keeping tabs.

The event is free and for anyone ages 4 and up. Check-in time is from 9 to 9:30 a.m., and all participants must be in the pool by 10 a.m. when the event starts.

Participants must pre-register by June 16, because there are limited openings based on age. Register online or at 2901 Southridge Blvd. or 500 S. Auburn St.
