Candlelit dinner and ‘beautiful views’? This WA restaurant ranks among most romantic
One of the most romantic restaurants in Washington sits in an alley with a pink-colored door.
Inside the restaurant at dinner time, the tables are covered in cloth and illuminated by candlelight.
The view of the Elliott Bay twinkles through the windows on one end — and depending on the night, live jazz music fills the room or a trapeze artist performs.
The Pink Door, an Italian-American restaurant in Seattle’s Pike Place Market, was recognized as one of the most romantic restaurants in the U.S., according to an OpenTable list released on Jan. 30, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
The list recognizes 100 restaurants across the country.
The beloved Seattle restaurant made the list last year, too. But OpenTable reviewers still rave about the “very romantic and cozy atmosphere.”
It also has “beautiful views of (Elliott) Bay,” one reviewer wrote.
Reviewers also recommend the food.
“We spent a leisurely 2 hours, overlooking the Puget Sound and Pike Place Market. We wined, we dined, we laughed and savored every moment!”
Meals served at the restaurant are “seafood and produce driven” like the Cioppino Pink Door — it includes prawns, rock fish, mussels, clams and calamari in a “spicy tomato and white wine broth.”
A non-seafood option includes the Lasagna Pink Door. It’s made with fresh spinach pasta with besciamella, pesto and marinara sauce.
To find the most romantic spots in the nation, OpenTable looked at diner reviews and scored them based on “overall diner rating, user klout, total number of reviews, and regional overall rating.”
From this, the restaurants were then scored based on the percentage of reviews in which “romantic” was “selected as a special feature.”
