Best BBQ spot in Washington? Award-winning pitmaster’s restaurant is No. 1, Yelp says
The best spot for barbecue in Washington is run by a prize-winning pitmaster who serves “mouthwatering” meat in a “cozy restaurant,” according to Yelp.
Yelp released a list of the top barbecue spots in every state, and Ranch House BBQ and Steakhouse in Olympia was a top contender.
The restaurant is run by Amy Anderson who has won multiple barbecue competitions, including a world championship, according to the Ranch House website.
Anderson’s restaurant is popular among Yelp reviewers for its beef ribs and pulled pork sandwich.
“They have the best beef ribs and some of the best pork ribs around. They are not overly smoky, they have a perfect smoke ring a nice rub and flavorful vinegar-based yet sweet and tangy sauce,” one reviewer wrote.
The menu also includes BBQ pork ribs, smoked chicken, beef brisket, steak and hamburgers.
Yelp reviewers have also raved about the chili and the “delicious homemade potato salad and sweet, juicy corn on (the) cob.”
“A barbecue is an art form that requires a special touch ... Ranch House BBQ stands out as an exception and is among the best in the Pacific Northwest!”
To find the best barbecue spots in every state, Yelp ranked businesses that had a large number of reviewers mentioning “barbecue.” These businesses were then ranked on the volume and ratings.
