Looking for best cheeseburger in Washington? Yelp ranks this ‘fun joint’ No. 1 — again

A food stand in Washington was ranked number one as the best cheeseburger in the state — again.

And reviewers on Yelp couldn’t agree more that the cheeseburger from Tacoma’s Ooh La La Burgers is “handcrafted to perfection.”

“It’s not often that I run into an exceptional place to eat. It requires cleanliness, great service, expediency, value, and of course, delicious eats,” one reviewer wrote. “Ooh La La Burgers knocked it out of the park.”

The burger spot made it onto the “50 states, 50 cheeseburgers to sink your teeth into” list from review website Yelp, released on Sept. 1.

To find the most “perfectly cooked burger,” Yelp scanned restaurant listings “with a large concentration of reviews mentioning “cheeseburger.” It then used factors like total volume and ratings of reviews between Jan. 1 and July 20, 2023 to determine which burgers made the cut for each state.

But this isn’t the first time Ooh La La Burgers made Yelp’s coveted list.

The “fun joint” landed the No. 1 slot in 2022 as well, McClatchy News previously reported.

The bustling food stand equipped with baked goods and thick hand-cut fries sits in Tacoma’s North End neighborhood.

The “cool” joint offers five different burgers as well as sides like blue cheese coleslaw and roasted corn on the cob.

Yelp reviewer also shouted out the staff for great service along with the great food.

“Oh my goodness - run, don’t walk to get this AMAZING burger. Great staff and service!,” one reviewer said.

“Must try burgers and fries . They were so delicious. One of the best I’ve had ever. Also great”customer service , very friendly,” another reviewer said.
