Powerball player just misses $167 million jackpot — but wins big in Washington
A Powerball player in Washington won $50,000, just missing the $167 million jackpot, lottery officials say.
The ticket matched four winning numbers and the Powerball in the drawing Saturday, April 26, Washington’s Lottery said.
The lucky ticket was sold at a Jacksons Food Store in Puyallup, about a 10-mile drive southeast from Tacoma, lottery officials said.
A player in Kentucky won the grand prize, which resets to an estimated $20 million, with a cash value of about $9.2 million, for the next drawing Monday, April 28, the national Powerball site said.
The winning numbers were 1, 12, 14, 18 and 69, with a Powerball of 2, the site said. The Power Play multiplier was 3x.
More than 510,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $150,000, the lottery said.
The Powerball jackpot was previously won March 29, when a California player hit the $527 million grand prize, lottery officials said.
