Two Powerball tickets — including one sold near Tacoma — just missed the $1.15 billion jackpot, but still won in Washington.
The tickets won $50,000 each by matching four winning numbers and the red Powerball in the drawing on Monday, Dec. 15, according to the Washington’s Lottery website.

Where were winning Washington Powerball tickets sold?
One of the winning Washington tickets was sold at a Chevron gas station at 804 South Hill Park Drive in Puyallup, a Washington’s Lottery spokesperson told The News Tribune by email.
Puyallup is about a 20-minute drive southeast from Tacoma.
The other ticket was sold at Thanh Thanh Café, 6033 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, in Seattle, per the email.
What were winning Powerball numbers?
The winning numbers in Monday’s Powerball drawing were 23, 35, 59, 63 and 68, with a Powerball of 2, the national Powerball website said.
No one took home the jackpot, but tickets sold in Arizona and California won $1 million each, the Powerball website said.
The odds of winning the grand prize are one in 292,201,338, according to the website.

The next Powerball drawing is at 7:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17.
What’s the current Powerball jackpot?
As of Tuesday, Dec. 16, the Powerball jackpot was an estimated $1.25 billion, with a cash value of $572.1 million, the Powerball website said.

Powerball tickets are sold in 45 U.S. states and Washington, D.C., as well as the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
Players may choose their own numbers or have them randomly selected.
“The jackpot is won by matching all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball,” according to the Powerball website, which noted that “the Powerball jackpot grows until it is won.”
