A Powerball ticket sold in Tacoma missed the $1.43 billion jackpot but still won big.
The lucky ticket won $50,000 by matching four winning numbers and the red Powerball in the drawing on Saturday, Dec. 20, according to the Washington’s Lottery website.

Where was winning Washington Powerball ticket sold?
The winning ticket was sold at Delightful Neighborhood Market, 4818 North 45th St., in Tacoma, a spokesperson for Washington’s Lottery told The News Tribune by email.
What were winning Powerball numbers?
The winning numbers in Saturday’s Powerball drawing were 4, 5, 28, 52 and 69, with a red Powerball of 20, the national Powerball website said.
No one took home the jackpot, but winning $1 million tickets were sold in California, Florida, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire and Ohio, the Powerball website said.
The odds of winning the grand prize are one in 292,201,338, according to the website.

The next Powerball drawing is at 7:59 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 22.

As of Monday, Dec. 22, the Powerball jackpot had grown to an estimated $1.6 billion, with a cash value of $735.3 million, the Powerball website said.

Powerball tickets are sold in 45 U.S. states and Washington, D.C., as well as the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, according to the Powerball website.
Players may choose their own numbers or have them randomly selected.
“The jackpot is won by matching all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball,” according to the website, which noted that “the Powerball jackpot grows until it is won.”
