The following are criminal cases heard recently in Skagit County Superior Court:
VEHICULAR ASSAULT
A 39-year-old Sedro-Woolley man was sentenced to two years, nine months in prison Monday after pleading guilty to vehicular assault, hit-and-run and two counts of driving with a suspended license.
According to court documents, on Dec. 11, 2022, Joseph Andres Saldivar caused a two-vehicle collision on Highway 11 west of Burlington that resulted in injuries to a woman and a man.
Saldivar then fled the scene on foot without rendering aid to the man and woman.
At the time of the collision, he was driving without a valid license.
PROTECTION ORDER VIOLATION
A 29-year-old Mount Vernon woman was sentenced to 42 days in jail after pleading guilty to violating a protection order.
According to court records, on Aug. 16 Sarah Jean Borg was found to be inside the home of a man who had a protection order against her.
In exchange for her guilty plea, Borg had a second charge dropped.
