Washington State Transportation Commission to meet in Walla Walla

The Washington State Transportation Commission is coming to Walla Walla on Tuesday, April 21, and Wednesday, April 22, to hear from local residents and government leaders about transportation needs and priorities in the region.

The discussion will cover recent successes and challenges with road projects, as well as economic development and the future of public transit.

A slew of Walla Walla Valley leaders will present over the course of the two-day meeting, including city, Port of Walla Walla and county officials. Gunner Fulmer, Elizabeth Chamberlain, Arlene Alen, Angie Peters and Randy Hinchcliffe are some of the speakers.

In addition to the informational presentations, the meeting will include a tour of local transportation facilities and regular business items for the commission.

A public comment period is planned for 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, and residents can attend the full sessions in person or online.

To attend via Zoom, residents must register on the commission's website. The meetings will also be livestreamed on TVW.

Written comments can be submitted via email to transc@wstc.wa.gov.

The meeting is the first of four the commission will hold across the state in 2026.
