Sirens: Guns seized from Chehalis man; man steals $3,400 from employer; four jailed after retail theft bust

LEWIS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

Arrests

-Devon R. McMenamy, 38, Chehalis, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and referred for second-degree unsafe storage of a firearm after deputies served a search warrant in the 800 block of Cousins Road on April 16. The search reportedly resulted in the recovery of six firearms, along with ammunition and firearm parts.

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

-Shane M. Nikoll, 28, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree theft in the 600 block of Harrison Avenue at about 11:39 a.m. April 15 after an investigation allegedly revealed that he stole over $3,400 from his employer.

-Danielle L. Demaris, 45, Centralia, was arrested for false reporting in the 1600 block of Eschom Road at about 3:17 a.m. April 16 after allegedly calling the police claiming someone was burglarizing her residence. Upon arrival, Officers reportedly determined that the person she claimed was burglarizing her residence lived there and was inside the residence lawfully.

-Andre P. Holbrook, 31, and Sean H. Cochran, both of Des Moines, were arrested for organized retail theft after allegedly working together to steal over $800 from a local clothing store in the 100 block of West High Street at about 5:44 p.m. April 16. Holbrook was booked into the Lewis County Jail and Cochran was referred for the charges. Grace L. Donham, 30, Lake Stevens, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for a Department of Corrections warrant and allegedly escaping from community custody. Chong K. Kang, 45, Tacoma, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged use of drug paraphernalia.

Accidents

-A two-vehicle collision with no injuries was reported in the 1900 block of Cooks Hill Road at about 2:47 p.m. April 15.

-A two-vehicle collision was reported near the corner of West Walnut Street and South Pearl Street at about 12:15 p.m. April 16.

-Officers responded to a two-vehicle collision near the corner of Harrison Avenue and Johnson Road at about 5:27 a.m. April 17.

Child abuse/neglect

-Officers investigated a reported case of child abuse in the 1100 block of Scammon Creek Road at about 11:22 a.m. April 15. No further information was available at the time.

Child sex abuse material

-A case of potential child sex abuse material was under investigation in the 200 block of East Oakview Avenue at about 1:17 p.m. April 15. No further information was available at the time.

Counterfeiting

-A male suspect attempted to pass counterfeit money at a local grocery store in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at about 4:26 p.m. April 16. The case is under investigation.

Criminal trespass

-A subject was trespassed from private property in the 200 block of East Chestnut Street at about 10:55 a.m. April 16.

DUI

-Jasper G. Bryan, 25, Oregon, was booked into jail for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol near the corner of Harrison Avenue and Alexander Street at about 11:50 p.m. April 16.

Hit-and-run

-A hit-and-run collision was reported in the 1700 block of Westside Court at about 6:03 p.m. April 15. No suspect information was available at the time.

Nuisance violation

-A 49-year-old man was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly camping on the roadway while using or possessing an open liquor container in public in the 200 block of North Railroad Avenue at about 11:28 p.m. April 15.

Possession of a controlled substance

-Joshua J. Goldade, 39, Seaview, was reportedly arrested after he was found sleeping in his vehicle on the side of the roadway near the corner of Salzer Creek and Fair Street at about 3:33 a.m. April 17. Police allege that suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were visible from outside the vehicle.

Probation violation

-A juvenile was arrested near the 500 block of South Tower Avenue at about 1:05 a.m. April 16 and booked into Lewis County Juvenile Detention after she allegedly ran away from home and threatened physical violence against her legal guardian if she was returned there.

Recovered stolen property

-A stolen firearm was recovered from a local business in the 200 block of West Main Street at about 12:47 p.m. April 16.

Theft

-Shoes were reported stolen in the 1300 block of Lum Road at about 6:05 p.m. April 16. There was no suspect information at the time.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

-John H. Henderson III was cited and booked into Lewis County Jail for alleged second-degree criminal trespass in the 2000 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue at about 10:24 p.m. April 14.

-Jordan T. Conwell was arrested for alleged fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) in the 800 block of Northwest New York Avenue at about 10:15 a.m. April 16.

-John Goines was released with a criminal citation for alleged third-degree theft in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at about 8:57 p.m. April 16.

JAIL STATISTICS

-As of April 17, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 143 inmates, including 130 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 103 were reported male and 27 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

-As of April 17, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 14 inmates. Of those, nine were from Centralia, two were from Elma and one was from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there was one each from the Quileute Nation and the Shoalwater Bay Tribe.
