Mount Vernon man sentenced for rape convictions

A 39-year-old Mount Vernon man was sentenced to 16 years in prison Friday after having been found guilty of unlawful imprisonment and two counts of second-degree rape.

According to court records, a Skagit County Superior Court jury found Manuel Estevan Camacho guilty of the crimes on March 10.

He was also found guilty of four special allegations.

According to court records, Camacho was found not guilty of second-degree assault.

Court records state that in December 2022 and on Jan. 11, 2023, Camacho raped a woman.
