The Rotary Club of Longview donated the giant sequoia because it's the largest tree by volume, according to a notice from the club.

The Rotary says the donation honors the club's 100 years of service.

The tree was planted at the intersection of Northeast Nichols Boulevard and Ocean Beach Highway.

Rotary President Amy Norquist and Longview Parks and Recreation Director Justin Brown spoke at the event.

Brown and Longview City Manager Jen Wills also received plaques from Rotarians for their help with the planting, according to the club.
