Skagit Valley College baseball team falls to Edmonds
MOUNT VERNON - The Skagit Valley College baseball team fell to Edmonds 3-2 and 8-1 on Saturday in a Northwest Athletic Conference North Region doubleheader.
In the first game, Edmonds scored two runs in the ninth inning to overcome a 2-1 deficit and take the win.
Skagit Valley starting pitcher Kieran Markusen held the Tritons to one run over five innings, allowing six hits and three walks while striking out three.
The Cardinals were held to four hits.
They scored a run in the third inning when Ezra Townsend was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, and a run in the fourth on a single by Beau Benjamin.
In the second game, the Cardinals were held to four hits.
They scored their run in the first inning on a Braden Requa home run.
Skagit Valley is 6-14 in North Region play and 7-28 overall.
