Town Toyota Center breaks ground on community rink expansion
On Thursday at the Town Toyota Center, local government officials, project stakeholders, staff, and community members broke ground on an expansion project of the Weinstein Beverage Community Rink.
The groundbreaking marks the beginning of a 1,700-square-foot expansion project of the facilities of the rink, including four new locker rooms for youth hockey and a dedicated referees' locker room. Additionally, a second-floor storage space will be built.
Among the guests involved in the groundbreaking were Wenatchee Mayor Mike Poirier, East Wenatchee Mayor Jerrilea Crawford, and Cashmere Mayor Jim Fletcher.
During the expansion project, the main rink and Weinstein Beverage Rink will continue to operate without disruption.
Construction is set to begin Monday, when bleachers will be removed. The project is set to be completed in November.
