Wednesday's Prep Roundup: Burlington-Edison softball team rolls past Sultan
BURLINGTON - The Burlington-Edison High School softball team beat Sultan 19-0 on Wednesday in a five-inning nonconference game.
The Tigers' Stella Kowalski went 4-for-4 with a home run, three runs scored and four RBI; Katelyn Billings 4-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBI; Peyton Locke 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs scored and four RBI; and Zoe Zimmerman 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI.
Burlington-Edison used three pitchers - Billings, Zimmerman and Locke. They combined to give up one hit, no walks and struck out eight.
The Tigers finish the regular season 16-3. They have won 13 of their past 14 games and are No. 7 in Class 2A state RPI.
Burlington-Edison opens the Northwest 2A District Tournament on Monday.

MOUNT VERNON - The Bulldogs fell to the Trojans in the Northwest Conference game.
Mount Vernon finishes its regular season 2-11 in conference and 2-12 overall.

FRIDAY HARBOR - The Wolverines defeated the Braves in the Northwest 2B/1B League game.
La Conner is 3-7 in league and 6-9 overall.

Sedro-Woolley Cubs
at Ferndale Golden Eagles
FERNDALE - The Cubs won both sides of the Northwest Conference meet.
On the boys' side, Sedro-Woolley's Dylan Burkhalter won the 800-meter run in 2 minutes, 4.72 seconds and the 1,600 (4:40.66), while Ethan DeJong won the 110 hurdles (15.70) and 300 hurdles (42.43).
The Cubs' Nathon Knott won the 100 (11.91) and the high jump (6 feet), and Tycen Bock the shot put (41-5 1/2) and discus (125-6 3/4).
On the girls' side, Sedro-Woolley's Kayla Camp won the 100 (13.48), Lyla Self the 200 (27.49), Taylor Muhlbaier the 400 (1:06.94), Aria Wing the 3,200 (13:35.97), Joslyn Chase the 100 hurdles (17.07), Josephine Houtby the 300 hurdles (51.64), Mckenna Genest the discus (84-10) and Evie Thompson the high jump (5-0).

BURLINGTON - The Burlington-Edison boys' team claimed the top spot in the Northwest Conference meet and Mount Vernon was second, while the Burlington-Edison girls' squad finished as runner-up.
On the boys' side, Burlington-Edison's Evan Forthun won the 100 (11.32) and 400 (50.29), while Brayden Crow was first in the long jump (19-5 1/2) and triple jump (37-11).
For Mount Vernon, Charles Lederle won the 1,600 (4:35.96) and the 3,200 (10:01.37).
On the girls' side, Mount Vernon's Julia Ericson won the 800 (2:38.04) and 1,600 (5:49.79).
Anacortes Seahawks
at Oak Harbor Wildcats
OAK HARBOR - The Anacortes boys' team won its Northwest Conference meet.
The Seahawks' Ryder Sill won the 100 (11.15), Austin Duchene won the 200 (22.03), Maverick Ball the 400 (50.43), Luke Kidder the 800 (2:07.76), Audyn Degraaf the 1,600 (4:53.10) and Dylan Rowell the 3,200 (10:07.98).
In the field events, Anacortes' Lucas Roberts won the high jump (6-5) and Casen Cummings the triple jump (37-5 1/4).
On the girls' side, Anacorates' Marlo Olson won the 400 (1:04.60), Ashley Becerra Guzman the 800 (2:29.91), and Alexis Johnson the 100 hurdles (17.12).
In the field events, Anacortes' Mia Kennedy won the discus (93-6), Lucy Lemrick the high jump (4-8), Elise Frost the pole vault (7-0) and Teagan Littke the long jump (15-5 1/2).

Girls' Golf
Northwest Conference
BURLINGTON - The Tigers won the six-team tournament at Avalon Golf Links, while Mount Vernon finished as runner-up.
The Tigers had a five-golfer, 18-hole total of 450, while the Bulldogs finished with 482.
Mount Vernon's Liv Burton was the tournament's medalist following her round of 82.
Burlington-Edison's Anna Horton finished fourth at 87, while teammates Morgan Perry and Caity Horton tied for fifth with rounds of 89.
Molly Thompson of Mount Vernon was seventh with a 90.
Girls' Golf
Northwest Conference
BELLINGHAM - Sedro-Woolley placed second in the eight-team tournament at Shuksan Golf Course.
The Cubs had a five-golfer total of 485 for the 18-hole round.
Anacortes placed seventh.
Sedro-Woolley had three golfers in the top 10.
Gracey Meeker tied for seventh with a round of 90, Cadence Natoli was ninth at 92, and Lexi Andreas was 10th at 95.
Anacortes' top golfer was Abby Ladd, who tied for 22nd with a round of 124.
