Police: Wenatchee man assaults 2 with machete

A Wenatchee man was arrested Sunday evening after police say he hit two men with a double-sided machete after an argument over rent money.

Teodoso Alvarez-Hernandez, 44, was arrested Sunday and booked into the Chelan County Regional Justice Center on suspicion of second-degree assault with a deadly weapon.

Police responded around 7:35 p.m. to a call of stabbing/gunshot to the 200 block of Peters Street in Wenatchee, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Chelan County Superior Court. Police found the two victims at a residence, with one of them actively bleeding.

The two men police say Alvarez-Hernandez hit with a machete were transported to Confluence Health Hospital. One man was hit in the shoulder and the other on his right arm.

Alvarez-Hernandez was arrested Sunday at his residence, a camp trailer, in Wenatchee. Police found a machete on the passenger floorboard of his vehicle with blood on it.

Alvarez-Hernandez's preliminary hearing in Chelan County Superior Court is scheduled for Monday.
